Over 280,000 breast augmentation surgeries were performed in 2016 according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, an organization that our doctors at Plastic Surgery Professionals are members of. There are a number of reasons why breast augmentation surgery has become popular. Some women simply want to feel better about their appearance. Many just want to be able to wear stylish clothing and bathing suits and feel more self-confident. Others have lost breast volume and “perkiness” after pregnancies and want to feel restored.
For many women, breast augmentation surgery provides a high degree of satisfaction and an increase in self-confidence. If you are considering breast augmentation, it’s important to be aware of all of the options and choices available to you. Here at Plastic Surgery Professionals, we use a 3-Step System during your Consultation that will help you make a decision that’s best suited to your needs.
Step 1: You tell us your goals and objectives and we listen carefully so we understand what you are looking for.
Step 2: We will examine you and note certain measurements. We utilize a bio-dimensional approach which takes into account important aspects of your chest size and form. We then present you with options of implant size, style and type and the risks and benefits of these. We will also show you sample implants to help you get a better feel for your options.
Step 3: Dr. Kanter will sit down with you and explain the advantages and disadvantages of the different plastic surgery options as they relate to your personal situation. With input from our experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeons, you can then make informed choices as to what is best for you and your lifestyle.

During your consultation, you will also be informed of the advantages and disadvantages of each of these to help you make an informed decision.|
|Implants: You have choices here, too. What type, saline or silicone? What style?, Should they be placed over the chest muscle or under the muscle? There are pros and cons to these different approaches. The figures to the left shows the difference in placement. The left panel shows the implant on top of the pectoral muscle. The right panel shows the implant below the muscle.|
|Which is best for you? It depends on a number of factors as well as your preferences. At the time of your consultation, we will try to give you a feel for the pros and cons of the different approaches and help you decide.|
